Your First Appointment

When you arrive at TIWSH, your assessment will begin immediately with a sexual history questionnaire that will allow the provider to better address your concerns and needs. This questionnaire may be used in the future to gauge your progress after the start of treatment, so you can not only physically see improvement but objectively as well.

The initial appointment will include a thorough medical history as well as a detailed discussion addressing your concerns. This may include problems with arousal, desire, orgasm, and/or pain. Additionally, this appointment will include a physical exam to determine if there are any physical or anatomical problems. Blood may be drawn to determine hormone levels that may impact your sexuality.

During your treatment at TIWSH, we understand that your concerns are also the concerns of your significant other. At one of your follow-ups, you will have the option of being seen as a couple to help your partner understand what is affecting you and address their concerns.

At The Texas Institute for Women’s Sexual Health, the staff and providers respect your privacy regarding this sensitive topic. No information regarding your care will be used without your consent.
